Aurora
In October and November 2003 extensive auroral storm activity coincided with clear, cold nights in the east of Scotland. Having just invested in my first digital SLR, I spent several nights taking both film and digital images. To my surprise the digital images were much nicer, and a few of them are presented here.
Currently we are in the trough of the 11 year solar-cycle, with relatively little sunspot activity. I can't wait until activity increases again to photograph this fantastic sight again.
